Special attention is more valuable than big adoption numbers

Direct interaction -  Our group uses their collective professional positions to guide the people they help on a daily basis to the proper pet for their individual situation. We are able to work with the adopters on their pets’ special problems regarding training, diet, prosthetics or anything else that might be required.

Successful program - While there are no guarantees in life, our track record through the years is testament to our methods. We have not had to keep any animals who have become "permanent residents".

Hands-on involvement -  We don’t do many adoptions on a yearly basis. We can’t tout large numbers like many animal welfare or humane societies do as they solicit funding. Since we concentrate on the hard placements with a high level of follow up, we have been averaging only 30 to 40 adoptions per year since we started our program in early 1998.

The best part is that our pets, like Barney pictured here, don't know that they're handicapped. Do you really think he's not happy to be here?
